ANALYSIS #16
Visibility is the new game
51% of B2B buyers open an AI chatbot before Google. Why visibility in AI now has its own logic.

In 2008, not having a website was a red flag. In 2015, not ranking on Google was a sign you weren't serious. In 2026, 51% of B2B buyers open an AI chatbot before they open Google. A year ago, it was 29%.
No channel has shifted this fast
Not mobile. Not social. Not even Google itself.
There are companies with better products, better teams, and better case studies that don't exist when a client asks AI whom to work with. And there are average services that show up in the answers.
The difference isn't quality. It's visibility.
And visibility in AI has a logic. Coaches and creators get cited based on content volume and community mentions. Consultants and B2B services get cited through external references and third-party authority. Neither is new.
Two signals that now compound
What is new: both signals now amplify each other. A consultant with strong references gets amplified by any content presence they have. A creator with high volume gets a multiplier when external sources start citing them. Which one you build first depends on who you are. How you layer the second one on top determines how fast both grow.
That is the strategic shift: sequence and compounding.
Visibility is the game
In generative search, quality is table stakes and community citation is a must. Visibility is the game. Without it, nothing else happens.
